Cadiz Mugs

I am aching for these mugs from Anthropologie! They come in four different colors, and I want one of each. I love the surprise waiting at the bottom of the mug! And the little bloom on the handle....just sweet.

I picture my family on lazy Saturday mornings, laughing and chasing through the halls with tickles and squeals. Bacon and pancakes wrapping us in their comforting aromas. We will be drinking our orange juice out of these cheerful mugs and toasting to things like health, wealth, sunshine and....of course.....bacon!

Grump Fest 2010

I ate cake for breakfast this morning.....yes cake! The saddest part of that story is, I fed it to Emilee as well. Not the wisest mothering choice, but I thought it might add some sweetness to an otherwise dark, wet, cold morning.

I'm going to over share now.

I know it's not good energy to complain...but this whole week has been a major grump fest for me! My mood has been swinging with such force, I'm afraid it might poke an eye out!

I don't feel like myself. Opposition keeps getting up in my face, pushing me around, whispering...."just give up already"!

I need a make-over! I wish they had a "biggest loser" for people who just need to loose 30 or 40 lbs. I wish a gift card for a day at the spa would show up for me in the mail. I also wish I could sleep at night, and that my eyebrows didn't look like they were taking over my face!

Am I feeling sorry for myself? A little.

Sometimes I just can't believe the endless things a woman's body goes through....just being a woman! All the hormones, and cycles, and cramps and pains, and bloating, and uncontrollable grouchiness, and then there is the illness of pregnancy, the discomfort, and water retention, which turns into the intense pain of contractions, followed by pushing a baby out of your body, followed by the pain when you being breastfeeding, then the sleepless nights, and then your body freaks out as it tries to start your "womanly" cycle again!

And then there are the men who look at you like "what's your problem?" (Not that my husband would ever do that....he's awesome!)

I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

This last week I have felt like I could sleep for an entire week. I don't know what is happening, but I need help! Heavenly help.

I know this cloud will pass. I know being a woman is a wonderful gift. I really do! I'm just having a really hard week.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Brand New Year

The Holidays were great and long and sick and tired! It was so fun to watch Emilee opening her gifts. We watched her climb up the stairs and run into my mom's living room, jump up and down at the sight of all the gifts and Christmas cheer!

I think she felt the magic!

Unfortunately the holidays were full of head colds, sore throats, coughing and achy bodies. We arrived home from our week and a half vacation even more exhausted than when we left.

I am sitting here in the middle of a huge mess, next to Emmy-boo, who keeps going pee-pee in her princess pull-ups! We started potty training today, and I'm not quite sure what I am doing! I'm feeling a little intimidated, I must say. I certainly need to watch the training video again.

I'm excited for the new year!!! I know my cold will pass in the next few days, Emmy will begin using her new potty chair, and I'll get my mess cleaned up.

I have been thinking.....I need a moto for the year, something to motivate and inspire me into action!!! I narrowed it down to two. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" and "Just Do It". I can't decide between them, so I'm going with "Cleanliness is next to Godliness, so Just Do It!"

This year my home is going to be a haven of peace and cleanliness!! All of those things I always talk about doing, I'm just going to do!! It is going to be awesome! I am so excited! I really want to be a new and better version of my self this year! I want to try things I normally wouldn't have the desire or courage to do! I just know that 2010 is going to rock my world.

So say goodbye to the old lazy, tired, unmotivated Michelle and say hello to the new and improved!!!

I'm off to clean my kitchen!! Talk to you later!

A Little Break!

So Sunday night my mom, Amber and I left the babies, husbands, and work at home and headed for Las Vegas!! It's not that Vegas is a favorite spot of ours really, we just wanted to go some where different and we wanted to try out the new Serendipity 3 at Caesar's Palace. Amber and I love the one in NYC and wanted to share the Frozen Hot Chocolate with mom!! It was quite satisfying, however, my heart still yearns for the magic of New York City, oh how I long to go back!!! Although the Frozen Hot Chocolate was delicious it just wasn't the same as being crammed into a corner of the eclectic cozy Serendipity 3 on 60th street! Sigh.

We stayed one night at the Stratosphere were we treated ourselves to a round at the oxygen bar. It was wonderful, we got to relax and enjoy massages while we inhaled oxygen to our heart's content. I felt great when it was through....I would highly recommend it!

The next night we stayed at the beautiful Bellagio. That hotel is so amazing and we spent the evening relaxing in our robes and slippers as we ate our complimentary chocolates. We spent hours wandering, shopping, stopping a the bathroom for the preggo lady (me!), and of course eating.

Our final night was spent at the Loews Resort at Lake Las Vegas!! It was beautiful!!! After a dinner and pina coladas in the "village" we returned to the hotel where we enjoyed another pina colada on the veranda, taking in the fresh air and moonlight. We spent hours talking about life, love, sorrow, family, relationships, and how we want our lives to be!! It was so nice to share that with my mom and sister. Sometimes we get too busy with life to be there for each other the way we would like to, so thank you to my sweetheart and little mini for letting me take some time away to reconnect with them.

As usual, the time went by too fast, and there are so many details I'm leaving out, but I'm so glad we made it happen!! This memory is already a cherished one. I'm definitely looking forward to next year!!

Warm Springs

Not to far from where we live is a little oasis in the desert! Yesterday we enjoyed a lazy afternoon at the nearby warm springs with Royce, Lupe and Adolfo, splashing in the water and noshing on fire grilled hot dogs!

Emilee had the time of her life, and so did Mommy and Daddy!! She is such an adventurer, not afraid of anything and always excited about everything. It makes life so fun having her along for the ride!

Can't wait to do it again!

Little Lady of Leisure

What's a girl to do after a long day of caring for all those stuffed animals and baby dolls? Put her feet up of course.......she deserves a little R&R!
