Little Lady of Leisure

What's a girl to do after a long day of caring for all those stuffed animals and baby dolls? Put her feet up of course.......she deserves a little R&R!

What in the world?

A few months ago, I was minding my own business, probably emailing my sister or looking at etsy, when Emilee came running past me into the kitchen. I had to do a double take! Most of the day she had been pantless, wearing only her soccer jersey and some baby legs. I didn't think being pantless would kindle an interest in undressing herself, but apparently she decided to pull off her own diaper. The hilarious part was that it was still holding on some how!!

After taking some photos, I chased her down and discovered that the velcro tabs were securely attached to each other creating a wonderful diaper belt with a sweet soggy diaper tail flapping behind her as she hurried here and there! It didn't even seem to phase her, but it gave me and Tyler a good laugh!

Sunshine

You know how it feels when you finally see the sunshine after what feels like a lifetime of clouds and cold? There are times when I look at this little girl and feel the very same feeling! I know I say it enough to make people sick, but I swear I grow more in love with my Ems every day!! She is such a charmer, and so full of personality. She already tries to say words like delicious, which thrills my heart to no end!

The other day we went to the bedroom to lounge on the bed while daddy worked on the computer. We tussled around and laughed, played peek-a-boo with the covers and enjoyed some snuggling! It was a good time for mommy and baby!

Sometimes I honestly can't believe this is my life! Being Emilee's mom has made me something greater than I could have ever imagined. It is so satisfying to have helped create something so perfect and beautiful!!

The Garden

Last year, after moving back from Springville with our new baby girl, we went to work planting our first garden! We were so excited! Home grown tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash etc. The only problem is that I hate weeding!!! Tyler was obviously busy with work, and I was busy with the baby, and for some reason I could not or would not find the time to weed.

Needless to say, by the end of the season there was a 4 foot wall of weeds surrounding our poor little garden! It was embarrassing, and did not represent the kind of order and control I desire in my life. Now, as spring is here and the cold weather is slowly fading away, my dreams of a beautiful garden have returned! For Easter I bought some cute little garden tools for Emilee. Soon, together we will build our garden, only this time we will take good care of it! I will teach her how to dig holes for seeds, how to pull weeds, and how to harvest our crop!! I know she will love it.

Thank goodness for new seasons in our lives and thank goodness for second chances!

Home Sweet Home

This is our home! An old pink house in the desert with chipping paint, broken windows and other various "issues" that might make it less than desirable to most people, but like most things, you can't really judge this little house by the outside. Inside we have made it a comfortable place. I struggle in keeping it as clean and tidy as I would like it to be. That is something I am working on, but it is warm and it is beautiful. This is the home were we brought our first child, and where we will bring our second! This is where we have celebrated anniversaries, birthdays, holidays!

Like the saying goes...home is where your heart is, and for now, my heart is here!

This picture was taken during Adolfo's birthday party a couple of years ago! Royce, Lupe and Adolfo lived in this house at that time. Tyler and I hope to restore the yard to the state they had it. Right now it is a little overrun by weeds! I am excited to make it beautiful!! I have a strong desire to improve and beautify!! Let's just hope it warms up soon.
